It was the best of days for the annual seniors match with Prudhoe. The sun shone, the temperatures were not too high (they rarely are), the company and the ‘oldies’ banter so good that the result hardly mattered although, for the record, Allendale did manage to win a close fought match, 6-4.
The images have been kindly supplied by Richard Hannam of Prudhoe Seniors (www.cameraflair.co.uk) and capture the essence of Golf in the Wild – perceptive shot of the day is our Dennis and Geoff, posing in the rough – where else 🙂

Many thanks to all who turned out for the first Seniors away match at Gosforth on 5th May. It was perfectly timed to coincide with the first day of summer although our golf didn’t quite rise to the occasion – congratulations to Geoff Edwards and Jim Hall in securing our only two points in the 10-2 defeat. Regardless, it was a grand day out.
Such is our fame (or is it the prospect of Fran’s cooking), we have been invited to play at Prudhoe on 11th August 2016, probably with an 09:30 tee-off – please keep this day free if you can. I have warned them that we might have to restrict matches to 4 i.e. 8 per team). They will be providing a post-match meal and we have agreed to reciprocate at the return match which will be organised for next year.
We now have a full team for Bellingham on May 26th – unfortunately I cannot make this one as I am playing Captain elsewhere – on the high seas of the Bridgewater Canal. Entries are as follows (pairings to be announced later): Dennis Bowling, Tony Johnson, Robin Makepeace, Ron Jamieson, Dennis Cousins, Mike Carter, Fred Carr, Colin Wraith, Geoff Edwards, Mike Metcalfe, John Colman and Peter Robinson.
