Just another reminder about our Captains Day.
I have had a number of emails from members offering apologies or stating they would like to join in the fun, but I thought I would just send out another reminder.
I need to know rough numbers so that the food can be ordered and prepared, so if you are still wanting to attend please could you email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) before Monday or catch me at Allendale Fair or on Sunday so we can all enjoy a great day.
I am hoping for fine weather, pumping music, show girls (only joking) food and drink. Oh and of course some golf and spot prizes.
Tee off times between 10 am and 12 noon, so you can play with your mates as normal if that’s what you want.
Happy hitting and look forward to hearing from you.
Iain, Fran and Shirley
Now that the season is well and truely underway I thought I would drop you all a quick e mail.
As Captain I am now starting to get to grips with my duties, it has been a bit of a steep learning curve but we are already into May and the weather is improving, I could say I was living the dream!!!!.
All the competitions are being well attended, which is great for the club and the banter within the clubhouse seems to have carried on from last season. We have tried some new pin positions this year, I hope they have given you all something different to think about.
The Wednesday Comps start this wek on the 7th, so good luck to all that are going to take part. From a personal point I am not going to be able to attend on the evening to open and close the computer so on some occasions it will not be there for you to enter your scores. If the computer is not there for use please will you put your cards in the slot and they will be collected and the scores recorded and circulated. (This may not happen the same day).
Thanks for your understanding on this matter.
Lastly on Saturday 17th May we have the Goan Vase, which is an Invitation day. I am sure most of you know someone who plays golf, so why not invite them up to play your golf course. It is always good to bring someone new to see the course and this is an ideal oppotunity for us all to get people interested, who knows they might like it so much they join.
Thanks everyone for your time and happy hitting.
Well who could believe it but the new golf season is upon us and fingers crossed we have no snow. It has been fantastic to be able to get up to the club over the last few weeks to blow off those cobwebs and to even start playing in adhoc stablefords. (I wish I hadn’t having been cut a shot before the season has started). The course is already looking and playing well which bodes well for the rest of the season.
I thought I would just send out a few words as this years Gents Captain and wish everyone the best of luck for the season ahead and lets see your handicaps come crashing down. I am looking forward to working alongside Fran and Shirley as Ladies Captain and Norman as Senior Captain and wish them all the best for the coming season.
We have the Captain V Chairman competition this coming Saturday 5th April Teeing off at 10 am so please dust of your clubs and get yourself involved. It is a 9 hole comp with a social afterwards.
The season starts for real the following day with the April Medal so it is now all to play for.
Once again GOOD LUCK to you all for the season and please if you have any problems get in touch.
Iain THOMPSON – Gents Captain.
